Spectacular early 1940's evening coat in black velvet with lipstick red wool collar and cuffs embellished with rhinestones and gold braid from Frost Bros. of San Antonio. These coats are hard to find, and this is a real beauty. It has a red taffeta lining with red wool facing. Wonderful 50's Mexican jacket in bright red wool with embroidery and appliques. This jacket has especially nice appliques with cactus, flowers, jugs, bird with Mexican lady, and a truly amazing and beautifully detailed dancing couple on the back. Gorgeous 40's tweed coat by Irene, the California designer who replaced Adrian in 1942 at MGM Studios. In 1935 she started doing custom work through Bullocks Wilshire. This coat, with its subtle leather detail on the collar, is in a beautiful wool herringbone tweed in black, gray and white on a yellow ground, which makes it have a slight greenish cast. The cutest 30's Waitress uniform I've ever seen. Of starched green and beige cotton, it looks like it was never used, although the name Martin is embroidered over the pocket. It has little buttonholes for what must have been detachable buttons, and it also comes with two aprons. There are 2 side pockets as well as the chest pocket, and the construction of the outfit is quite sturdy. The label says 34, so that's about an American 4-6. Late 1960's crocheted vest in wool and leather for the perfect Boho rich hippie look. The colors are beautiful, bright, and varied, adding to that all important psychedelic look. A size small, the vest measures approx. 33" bust, 30" waist, and 19" length when buttoned, but it's fairly stretchy and looks great unbuttoned. Except for some darkening to the suede patches, which just adds to the patina, the vest is in excellent condition.

Beautiful Oaxacan hand embroidered Mexican dress in white on white. The embroidery floss is slightly shiny, so the subtle contrast with the mat cotton is really lovely. I've shown the dress belted with my Hippie belt (not included), but, belted or not, it's a great example of this kind of folk wear.
