Beautiful 50's cocktail dress of heavy silk or silk blend Duchesse in a gorgeous shade of emerald green. Almost couture quality, this is one of those dresses that women had made specially for them by a skilled dressmaker, in this case, Helene Loy. The label is on the inside of the underskirt. The petal overskirt is lined for stiffening, and the zipper is hand stitched along with the hem and facings. Of black and white wool tweed, it has three big black plastic buttons with bound button holes, a braid trimmed collar, and two small pockets in front. About a size 8, the jacket measures approx. 15" across softly rounded shoulders, 24 1/2" outside sleeve length, 37" bust, 36" around the bottom, and 22 1/2" overall length. Very well made and lined in black satin, it's in excellent condition.

There is no side opening, so it would be difficult for someone with large shoulders to get into. Except for some very slight fraying of the bottom hem, which could be turned up, the top is in excellent condition.
