1940s Hungarian Rayon Embroidered Peasant Blouse SOLD



Beautiful 1940s Hungarian embroidered peasant blouse of rayon crepe. This is a rare one with long sleeves in a lovely cafe au lait color which looks like cream or pale beige in the photos. The hand smocking and embroidery is quite lavish, and it is in wonderful colors of shades of green, pink and maroon with yellow and blue accents. About a size 4-6, the blouse measures approx. 25" from the inside neckline to the sleeve end, up to 40" bust, 30-33" waist, and 17 1/2" overall length. This blouse would be best on a petite size, because the waist and sleeve length are a little short. It's a great find for a lover of Hungarian peasant blouses. There is a small mend on the left sleeve that is pictured, and one of the flowers at the top left front doesn't have its little yellow buds. This doesn't detract, however, and otherwise, the blouse is in excellent wearable condition. #VS581 SOLD Small Mend
