1970s Silk Embroidered Robe by Peony



Gorgeous 1970s Peony label cream silk hand embroidered robe suitable for a bridal trousseau. I love these pieces from Shanghai that were exported when trade was just opening up again from China. The embroidery and cut work are so exquisite, and the style looks like something from a 1930s movie. The size tag says 40, and the measurements could vary a lot according to how the robe is tied. The measurements are approx. 36-42" bust, 28" waist at the smallest, 38" hips at the smallest, 16" waist length, and 41" skirt length. There are a few scuffs in the silk charmeuse and about 5 dark beige spots on the right front skirt at the bottom (shown in pictures).
