1950s Japanese Embroidered Kimono SOLD
1950s Japanese embroidered Kimono with a wonderful back motif of three huge padded peonies, smaller flowers with leaves and tendrils, and a bird in flight. The black silk blend satin really shows off the rich colors of the hand embroidery. The lining is a coral colored crepe that has some scattered spots, and there is a pinhole near the top back neckline. One of the big peonies has a 1/4" by 1/2" section where there is some thread missing that is visible in the photos. The Kimono measures approx. 54" from right top sleeve end to left top sleeve end, and 54" overall length. The Kimono is in good wearable condition, or it would be a great wall hanging.
