Late 1940s Lilli Ann jacket in the New Look made famous by Christian Dior. This jacket, sold by Bain's of Las Vegas, has the very fitted nipped-in waist that came to define the silhouette of the day. Adolph Schumann, the designer of Lilli Ann, used only the finest fabrics, often imported from France. The fabric of this jacket is a soft wool fur blend that is sometimes referred to as "eyelash wool" because of the little fur flecks shaped like eyelashes. A fabulous style with wonderful details like the scalloped collar and generous cuffs, the jacket is about a size 4. It measures approx. 17" across lightly padded shoulders, 36-38" bust, 25" outside sleeve length, 27" waist, and 22" overall length. There are three very tiny pinholes in the wool near the hem which are not visible, and some reinforcement sewing near the waist button under the buttonhole side, which also doesn't show. Otherwise, the jacket, lined in a fine black rayon crepe, is in excellent wearable condition. #VS609 SOLD
