#VS007 Victorian Beaded Velvet Jacket

This is an exquisite, entirely beaded 19th century Victorian jacket. It's probably from the 1870's to the very early 1880's, judging by the shoulder and sleeve cut and slightly raised waist in front. It's lined in quilted padded silk, and there is some wear on the inside rim of the high collar, and a few of the hanging bead strings over the beaded handmade lace ruffle on the back are missing. The jacket is a dark burgundy velvet, and the black beading is in excellent condition. It's quite small, especially in the shoulders, which are 12 3/4" across, with the sleeves being cut very close. The bust is 33", waist is 29 1/2", the inside sleeve length is 15", and back waist length is about 14 1/2", so it's a wearable size if you have very small shoulders. The length from the front neckline to the long front pieces is 34 1/2". There is no label, but it's an absolutely gorgeous museum quality example of the Victorian era. The color is a deeper red than shown in the photos. I have shown it in the photos with a gold coral and enamel Victorian pin and a green taffeta skirt, which are not included.
