Vintage 70s Geoffrey Beene Silk and Lace Dress
Exquisite 1970's Geoffrey Beene cocktail dress of couture quality in bisque and black lace and heavy silk satin lined in bisque crepe-de-chine. A truly timely design, it has all of the artistry and quality that Beene is famous for, especially his use of undulating bands of different laces. The matching belt is leather lined silk satin with a simple oval rhinestone buckle. Marked inside as a size 10, but more like today's size 6-8, it measures approx. 36" bust, 26" waist, 38" hips, 9" wrist openings, 27" skirt length, and 43" overall length. There are about 5 small breaks in the black lace, none over 3/4" long and 1/4" wide at the widest, and only one in the front. These breaks are not noticeable however, and do not detract from the dress. This beautiful dress is a rare find from one of America's finest designers, and other than the flaws noted, it's in excellent, hardly worn, condition.
