#VS211 Vintage Edwardian Velvet Jacket SOLD

Beautiful late Edwardian period, Poiret style, ruby red jacket in cotton velveteen with a silk lining. The color in the photos looks like an orange or rust red, but the jacket is a much more magenta or ruby red color, or a very deep shocking pink. This late teens period is very hard to find, especially in a style that's so wearable. The rows of stitching on the dramatic funnel neck, and the slanted sleeve cuffs, are very well executed. It's a small to medium size, and it measures approx. 16" across the shoulders, up to a 40" bust, 24" outside sleeve length, and 64" around the bottom. The back is slightly longer than the front, and the neck fastens with two matching covered buttons and a concealed hook and loop. There are some very slight shade variations in the velveteen that can only be noticed in a very bright light, and a few tiny scuffs near the front neckline, but these flaws are difficult to detect and don't detract from the beauty of this piece. The lining is nearly perfect, and other than the flaws I've mentioned, the jacket is in excellent condition.
