1940s Silk Embroidered Peasant Blouse



Vintage 1940s silk chiffon peasant blouse that's entirely hand sewn and hand embroidered. It's a soft, dusty rust-rose color, with gold and beige embroidery, accented with little brass sequins. It's about a size 6, and measures approx. 15" across the shoulders, up to a 40" bust, 22" outside sleeve length, and 21" overall length. Unfortunately, it's only in fair vintage condition. There are small holes on the right shoulder, and a larger 1/2" hole under the collar. Also, there is a small hole on the right side in the fabric folds, and although none of the sequins are missing on the front embroidery, except one on the collar, there are sequins missing on the sleeves (about 12). There is also some unevenness of color, especially on the back. Even with these flaws, the blouse is still wearable, not falling apart, and it's a rare and lovely collector's piece. #VS216
