1940s Black and Pink Suit



Wonderful 1940s suit of rayon or rayon-acetate blend crepe in black with little pink shapes printed on the fabric. These suits, which are more like two-piece dresses, are hard to find in such good condition. The photos make the shapes in the print look white, but they are more of a bubble gum pink. The buttons are very unusual and are also more pink than the photos look. The jacket is fully lined in black crepe, and the below-elbow length sleeves are cuffed and flared at the bottom with tucks at the padded shoulders. The skirt has box pleats and has been taken in at the waist. About a size 12, the jacket measures approx. 17" across the padded shoulders, 40" bust, 34" waist, 42" around the bottom, and 22" overall length. The skirt measures approx. 30" waist, up to 46" hips, and 27" length. Excellent condition. #VS361
