1930s Hawaiian Holoku Dress

Late 1930s Holoku of cotton with a classic Japanese Oriental print. The gown was probably custom made for a formal occasion or Hawaiian dancing. Examples of Holokus, or formal MuuMuus, as early as this one are quite rare. There is a long metal zipper in the back and a loop for the train, which is 28" longer than the front hem. A small size, it measures approx. 15" across the shoulders, 9" sleeve end openings, 33" bust, 25" waist, 36" hips, and 52" overall length in front. There is fading in the dress part compared with the train, that's visible in the photos, but otherwise, the dress is in very good wearable condition. #VD312
