1940s Hooded Swing Coat



Early 1940s navy blue swing coat in rayon gabardine with taffeta plaid cuffs and hood. The hood detaches from buttons around the neckline, and the matching belt slips through slits at the waist to tighten the front and leave the back to swing free. It's a really great style with lots of details, including a double row of covered buttons, semi-circle pockets, and a tab with button and button hole near the front hem to keep the coat closed. A small to medium size, it measures approx. 16 1/2" across padded shoulders, 24 1/2" outside sleeve length, up to 38" bust, and 44" overall length. There are a couple of dark spots on the right front pocket flap that are difficult to see, and two purplish spots on the back that are even harder to see, but otherwise the coat is in very good condition. #VS410
