Edwardian Hat / Titanic Era / Black and White

Lovely Edwardian hat from about 1910, the Titanic Era, in a very fine black straw overlaid with black net. It is trimmed with silk satin ribbon that is stiffened with buckram in the bow, and white daisies with white velour centers. The inside drawstring lining is intact, although without its ribbon, and the interior lining has the original label which says Gimbel Brothers, Philadelphia. The outside brim measures approx. 13 1/2" by 14 1/2", with the net adding another inch all around. Hats of this period are very hard to find, especially in such good wearable condition, so this charmer is quite a treasure. #VA037
