#VL054 Victorian Petticoat / Dress with Treadle Work SOLD

Lovely late Victorian period white cotton full petticoat that buttons down the front with real  mother-of-pearl buttons. The detailing on this petticoat is just incredible with many rows of tucks and the embroidery known as treadle work, which looks like hand embroidery. About a size 4, it measures approx. 35" bust, 27" waist, 14 1/2 - 15" waist length, full hips, and 49" overall length. Meant as an undergarment in its day, it could easily be worn as a dress now. There is a 1/4" slit and 2 very small U shaped holes in the bottom ruffle, but they completely disappear in the folds. Otherwise, the petticoat is in excellent condition.
