1950s Silk Cocktail Dress with Smocking

Lovely 1950s silk taffeta cocktail dress with some of the most intricate smocking I have ever seen. The smocking is done with a silvery metallic thread that contrasts beautifully with the black background. About a size 4-6, the dress measures approx. 32" bust, 28" waist, full hips, and 35" overall length without the straps which tie at various lengths. The bodice is lined, so it keeps the bust from stretching, but insets could be added inside to enlarge the bust. The dress is in excellent condition. #VD425
