| Exquisite turn-of-the-century coat of entirely handmade Battenburg lace. The placement and matching of the lace shows the coat to be original and not made of pieces from other lace articles. The two small ribbon appliques at the neckline may have been added at a later date, but they add a sweet touch to a rare and beautiful collector's piece. The coat would fit a range of sizes from a 6 to a 10, and it measures approx. 16" across the shoulders, 25" outside sleeve length, 20" armhole openings, up to a 40" bust, and 44" hips if kept closed, and 44" overall length. The lovely puffed sleeves and slightly fitted, flaring shape make the coat easy to wear as a coat or a dress for a dressy occasion or your wedding. There may be a couple of loose thread ends, but overall the coat is in very fine, excellent condition. | ||
