| Beautiful late 30's or early 40's peasant dress with cotton and chenille embroidery. These "Slavic" dresses are quite rare and a personal favorite of mine. This one is black rayon crepe with little gold filigree buttons with mirror insides. The embroidery is in various shades of magentas and purple with greens and gold in heavy cotton sateen and chenille floss with crocheted edges around the collar, neck, sleeve openings, and the ingenious matching belt. There is a metal side zipper, and the dress is about a size 6-8. The measurements are approx. 14" across the shoulder seams, but the sleeve tops are puffed out about 2" wider on each side with the original shoulder pads, up to 38" bust, 28" waist, 25" outside sleeve length, 38" hips, 16" waist length, and 27" skirt length. A rare find, the dress is in excellent condition. | ||
